چکیده

Q235 steel is widely used in engineering and construction. Therefore, it important to identify the damage mechanism acoustic emission (AE) response of material ensure safety structures. In this study, an AE monitor system situ tensile test with optical microscope were investigate insight into process steel. The surface specimen was polished etched before order improve quality micrographs. Two kinds responses, namely a burst continuous signal, recorded by during test. Based on test, observed that induced crystal slip inclusion fracture. Since ongoing process, signals produced, while possibly produced fracture which occurred suddenly released higher energy. addition, great number high amplitude yielding stage then decreased.

Measurement of Self-emitting Magnetic Signals from a Precut Notch of Q235 Steel during Tensile Test

In order to investigate the approach to characterize the damage behavior of ferromagnetic material components with flaw by metal magnetic memory testing, a sheet specimen with a precut notch of Q235 steel was chosen to measure the self-emitting magnetic signals on its surface during tensile test. The results showed that an abnormal magnetic signal appeared at the position of the precut notch af...

In-situ Corrosion Damage Detector Using Acoustic Emission

This paper aims to present the newly designed acoustic emission AE instrument for the in-situ monitoring of corrosion damages of aircraft structures. The work was theoretically based on the combination of modal AE theory and AE parameter analysis technique. Previous research had shown that identification of corrosion AE and background noise by modal acoustic emission(MAE) technique was possible...

On the Use of Acoustic Emission and Digital Image Correlation for Welded Joints Damage Characterization

A series of tests have been conducted to investigate fatigue damage characterization in corroded welded steel plates using structural health monitoring (SHM) techniques. Acoustic Emission (AE) is a non-destructive testing (NDT) technique with potential applications for locating and monitoring fatigue cracks in service. In the present work, AE is implemented to characterize damage during crack e...

Study of the Frictional Surface Damage Using Acoustic Emission Method

In this study, the change at rubbing surfaces has been investigated experimentally using an acoustic emission signal monitoring system. A steel ring is slipped on the surface of  a metallic sheet to simulate frictional conditions. The mechanical disturbances caused by the movement of the ring produce stress waves propagating along the sheet surface. The out of plane displacement of the sheet su...
